Habits To Help Change Your Life

Small changes in our daily lives can have a huge impact. When we start to practice and focus on what can improve our mindset and goals, a shift happens. It only takes 18 days for a habit to form. Habits are learned through repetition, the key to getting to where you want to be.

#1 Practice Gratitude

Everyday is a new day to show thanks. Take time out of your day to write down or think of 3 things you are grateful for. You’ll eventually start feeling more cheerful and excited about the small things in your daily life.

#2 Drink a glass of warm water first thing

Hydrating your body first thing in the morning will help to flush out toxins, boost your energy levels, and speed up your metabolism. With so many other health benefits, you’ll start to notice a shift.

#3 Breathwork

Spending 10 minutes a day breathing will bring you to a calmer, more centred you. Think of it as an active meditation, sitting and focusing on one thing that then stills your mind. Our mind is a powerful tool that can guide what our entire day will look like. Breathwork, known as Pranayama by yogis, helps bring serenity while increasing oxygen supply to the body.

#4 Move your body

It only has to be for 20 minutes a day! And it doesn’t have to be strenuous, you can stretch or go for a gentle walk. Not only does moving your body help to boost endorphins, giving you a feel good sensation in your day, it also increases your heart and brain health.

#5 Get a proper night's sleep

The recommended average for an adult is 7 hours of sleep. But everyone functions differently, so make sure that you are getting the right amount that allows for the following day to be productive. Setting a regular sleep routine is essential for good sleep quality and maintaining your body’s internal clock.

#6 Connect

The basic need of any human being is connection. Reach out to a friend or family member, even if it’s just a quick call or text.

#7 Be proactive

Take responsibility for your life. You can choose your behaviour and how you react to certain events. You have the freedom to create the life you want. So go out there and exceed your own expectations.
